graduation_cap_diplomaThe Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita Certification examination can be taken by students after they complete the following academic years of study of the Parāśara Jyotiṣa Course.

  1. PJC Year-1
  2. PJC Year-2A
  3. PJC Year-2B
  4. PJC Year-3

Rules and Regulations

The examination and viva-voce is conducted by the DBC Examination Board constituted for the purpose by the Certification Head Steven Hubball. The decision of the Board can be appealed to the Certification Head and the decision of the Head is final and binding.

Students interested in Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita certification must inform the DBC Examinations Officer Mr. Ajay Zharotia. For Questions contact your Mentor and/or PJC Liaison Mrs. Sarbani Rath (sarbani.rath@devaguru.com)

Each student will be judged by a Certification Board Member who will be a certified Jaimini Scholar.

Examination Fees must be paid at least 60 days prior to taking the examination.

All documents and logs must be received at the DBC Certification Office. Please email these to the Examinations Officer.

DBC examinations are conducted both online and in person by Jaimini Scholar teachers. The written examination is submitted online prior to the viva voce.

The Certification primary requirement, as has been done traditionally for centuries, is the viva voce which will include a 30 minute chart interpretation and remedy recommendation which has to be defended by the student in front of a panel of scholars.

Certificate

Certificates will be issued by Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center, New Delhi on receiving recommendation from the Certification Head. Certificate will be provided as PDF bearing the signature of Certification Head, Mentor and Examiner (DBC Board).

To obtain a printed Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita Certificate, please requisition PJC Liaison Mrs. Sarbani Rath (sarbani.rath@devaguru.com). Cost of print and postage is to be borne by the student.

Duplicate print certificates will cost ₹1500 (INR) each for Home students and $40 (USD) Overseas students provided the student has requisitioned print certificates originally. Else the PDF can be downloaded online.

Sanjay Rath (Oriya: ସଞୟ ରଥ) comes from a traditional family of astrologers from Puri, which trace their lineage back to Shri Achyuta Das (Acyutananda). Sanjay Rath uses Bṛhat Parāśara Horāśāstra, Jaimini Upadeśa Sūtra, Bṛhat Jātaka and Kalyāṇavarmā's Sārāvalī as the foundations of Jyotiṣa and teaches from various other Jyotiṣa scripture. His holistic teaching and writings span across various schools of thought, although not creating his own brand of astrology.
